Forming Invisible Phenomena
Forming Invisible Phenomena It is a phrase that Japanese artist Yasuaki Onishi has engineered into a visual language of multiple graphite and aluminum paintings and a larger suspended sculpture, shown for the first time as part of Residents at Art Dubai 2018. The work takes its inspiration from the city of Dubai, commenting on the production and waste cycle common to modern societies.
The Mine was originally founded in 2014 in Dubai as an interdisciplinary incubator. It has since evolved into a nomadic art initiative, which exhibits a roaming programme, framed by an anarchic curatorial approach.
