Aga Khan Foundation
The Aga Khan Foundation will host an exhibition featuring work from the six winners of the 2016 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Given every three years to projects that set new standards of excellence in architecture, planning practices, historic preservation and landscape architecture, .the Award seeks to identify and encourage building concepts that successfully address the needs and aspirations of societies across the world, in which Muslims have a significant presence.
The winners are: Marina Tabassum, Bait Ur Rouf Mosque, Dhaka, Bangladesh; Kashef Chowdhury / URBANA Friendship Centre, Gaibandha, Bangladesh; ZAO / standardarchitecture, Zhang Ke, Micro Yuan’er Children’s Library and Art Centre, Beijing, China; BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group, Topotek 1 and Superflex, Superkilen, Copenhagen, Denmark; Diba Tensile Architecture / Leila Araghian, Alireza Behzadi, Tabiat Pedestrian Bridge, Tehran, Iran; Zaha Hadid Architects, Issam Fares Institute, Beirut, Lebanon.
