The Empty Quarter

Year of Zayed

Across the UAE, the year 2018 is dedicated to Sheikh Zayed - Father of the Nation, Ruler and Friend. Ancient photographs from Magnum photographer Bruno Barbey – together with other collections – show how the UAE has transformed from a desert landscape into a thriving, vibrant nation.  The exhibition and photographs are a testimonial to Sheikh Zayed and form part of the identity of the UAE.  His Highness dramatically reshaped the land, industries, economy and tourism with his forward thinking, pioneering views.

Co-founded in 2009 by Saudi Arabian Princess HRH Reem Al-Faisal and Emirati Safa Al-Hamed, The Empty Quarter is a gallery devoted exclusively to fine art photography, serving a rapidly growing circle of artists and photo enthusiasts. The gallery works with young emerging and international renowned established photographers.
