The Sea and the Desert
The Art Centre presents an exciting group exhibition celebrating the cultural diversity of the UAE: a country that exists between the sea and the desert. Artwork on display comprises painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, digital and installation art. By exploring traditional and innovative art forms, the Art Centre’s instructors and members, who come from every continent in the world, express unique and often provocative artistic visions of the sea and the desert. The exhibition evokes a myriad of different cultural perceptions by artists who are all living and practicing in Dubai.
Dubai International Art Centre is the oldest public art centre in the UAE and occupies a special place in the history of Dubai's thriving art scene. Gallery 76 plays a key role in facilitating 'Art for all', hosting modern and contemporary art exhibitions from established and emerging artists, its central mandate is starting and nourishing artists’ careers.
