Rove Healthcare City
Mira Mortadi is a Dubai-based artist whose pop art illustrations make up part of the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ in Rove Hotels. During this year’s Art Week, Mira’s series of 15 wire portraits will be shown at Rove Healthcare City. Her new work is thoughtfully designed, individually handcrafted, and carefully framed. Each portrait is created from a single piece of wire delicately twisted into human forms and portraits. The exhibition is titled Ashkal, the plural of the word "Shakl", which means shapes or forms in Arabic.
About:Rove Hotels have fast become known for their focus on celebrating the talent of local and locally-based artists. Each of the three design-influenced hotels that have opened since the flagship Rove Downtown Dubai in May 2016, have showcased artists’ interpretation of the neighbourhood where the hotel is located in several art forms including photography, wall sculptures, illustrations, wall stencils and pop art. The art programme is supplemented by creative accessories, thought-provoking quotes and engaging signage so the experience is seamless and those who appreciate the creativity will find it hard to distinguish where the art beings or ends. The three operational Rove Hotels in Dubai are Rove Downtown Dubai, Rove City Centre and Rove Healthcare City.
